February is known as American Heart Month to raise awareness about heart health
and heart disease. Heart disease remains the number one killer among women and men. Love is good for your heart!
Hearts are a universal symbol for love. Having love in your life can help you recover from high blood pressure, reduce stress, improve your immune system and protect your heart.
Give and receive love unconditionally. Lord, help us to love!
Throughout history there has been violations of the rights and privileges of mankind. Human rights are the rights and freedom that belong to every human being. They are based on values such as dignity, fairness, equality, respect and independence. These values are defined and protected by law.
Human rights are important because it protects us from abuse by those who have power of influence. The Commission, guided by Eleanor Roosevelt created human rights. Learn about what the document states.
"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." ~Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Let us treat people with respect, kindness and equality.
Spread the word and use the hashtags #UniversalHumanRights, #HumanRights and #StandUp4HumanRights to post on social media.
More than 15 million children in the U.S. have lived in a household where domestic violence has occurred. I am one of them. Children who witness domestic violence are 15 times more likely to be victims of child abuse. I am one of them.
Children will never forget what they see, as they mature they can learn how to deal with their emotions and memories. I have. A boy as an adult is 10 times more likely to abuse his mate. A girl is 6 times more likely to be sexually abused. Children can recover from witnessing domestic violence or abuse. I have.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports there is 45% to 60% chance of occurring child abuse where domestic violence has occurred.
It is never okay to stay in an abusive relationship.

There are an average of 123 suicides each day. It's the 10th leading cause of death - 2nd leading for people ages 25-34 and 3rd leading for ages 15-24 in America.
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness month. National Suicide Prevention Week began in the U.S. on Sunday, September 8 and ended on Saturday, September 14th. The campaign helps to educate and engage health professionals and the public about suicide prevention and warning signs of suicide.
Resources are available for veterans with PTSD. If you or someone you know is in an emergency, call The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741 or call 911 immediately.

We have heard it said, "Pay it forward." It just pays to be nice to people. Just the other day I was challenged to go to my neighbors and give them something.
Well I did. I gave them my book. It was exhilarating to see their faces light up when I gave it to them. Even if the hidden message was, 'just because someone does something nice for you, does not mean that they want something from you.'
You ought to try it! When and if you do, drop your comments as to what happened. I can't wait to see your feedback!
My ultimate passion is helping people recognize their gifts, empower them to be confident and enable them to serve by using their gifts to share by lifestyle example, reaching beyond themselves to a community and a world which provides a pathway for growth and development.
Passion is what compels you to do the things beyond your capability especially when you are faced with an obstacle.

So, forgiveness is not based on feeling. If we forgave based on our feelings we would never forgive because we are stuck with the way we feel. Our feelings can be fickle. We can love a person today and hate them tomorrow.
Forgiveness is a choice. You choose to let go of anger and/or guilt towards someone and/or towards yourself. Forgiveness is complicated but it can be done. Choosing to forgive keeps you healthy emotionally and physically.
So how does forgiveness feel to you? place your comments below.
